Trailer: Let’s remind ourselves why Persona 4: Dancing All Night is going to be incredible

Atlus has released a new, one minute trailer to show off a little more of Risette in the upcoming Persona 4: Dancing All Night.

The game is already available in Japan, and has been met with some quite positive review scores – Famitsu’s critics scored it 8/8/8 and 9 for a total of 33 (source). For a niche rhythm game, that’s pretty impressive stuff.

It’s a while to go for the English release, but Atlus has published a video showing some (but not all) of the different costumes that Risette can dress up in, as well as some of her stylish dance steps:

Mind you, as you can see on the video, there are a lot of very angry “fans” downvoting the video. There’s a simple reason for this – Risette has a different voice actor in Persona 4: Dancing All Night. In the previous games, she was voiced by Laura Bailey, the amazingly gorgeous voice behind everything from Rayne in Bloodrayne to Serah Farron in Final Fantasy XIII-2

That voice was a big part of Risette’s appeal, to be fair. It was youthful, but mature. Sweet, but just a little sexy. It was very appropriate for Risette, basically, and I can appreciate that fans of the character might be worried with how the new voice actor holds up.

For my part I don’t mind her, based on the trailer above. It’s a different Rise, but as far as I’m concerned, it’s still Rise. And Hatsune Miku’s going to have some competition when this game lands on my Vita in a couple of month’s time.
