It may be later than expected (unless you considering August “early in the year” as we had originally been promised) but Toy Soldiers: War Chest is coming, and soon! Ubisoft has announced that the third game in the popular series is coming to Xbox One and PC on August 11, and to a Sony console for the first time with the PlayStation 4 launch set for August 12.

In addition to the standard edition of the game, a special edition titled Toy Soldiers: War Chest Hall of Fame will be made available at the same time. If you don’t want to get the special edition right away, the content will also be made available as a pack or individual content – but when you read about what the content is, you may change your mind about that! At E3, it was announced that two of four licensed “legendary” armies were G.I. Joe and He-Man (you can view the trailer here if you missed it). Here’s the trailer announcing the next two:

That’s right! Cobra Commander, the arch nemesis to Duke and the others in G.I. Joe, is also going to lead one of the four legendary armies! Not to mention the fact that EZIO IS BACK and fighting for justice with the brotherhood once more, this time outside of an Assassin’s Creed game. That’s one heck of a strong cast they’ve pulled together.

The Signal Studios developed Toy Soliders: War Chest will be available as a digital download only on August 11 and 12, so no need to brave the cruel outside world to buy a copy!
