Project CARS cancelled for Wii U, but gets new DLC for all other platforms

The game so nice, we reviewed it twice! We loved Project CARS on the PlayStation 4 and the PC, but apparently Project CARS is not so fond of the Wii U. Slightly Mad Studios has confirmed that it has stopped development for the game on Nintendo’s Wii U due to it being “too much” for the console to handle.

The publisher, Namco Bandai, has also confirmed the cancellation. When it comes to the future, Slightly Mad Studios does hope Project CARS and/or its sequel will be released for Nintendo’s top-secret NX console.

Current owners of Project CARS will likely be unfazed by its cancellation on the Wii U, and as such this next news should make you quite happy: there is new DLC available! It includes Ruapuna Park (a 3.3 km New Zealand raceway that has lots of fast corners) and three new cars (all Audi: R18 e-tron Quattro, the R8 LMP900, and the 1989 90 IMSA GTO). The new DLC is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One for $5.49 USD.

Don’t feel like spending extra money, but want a new car? Don’t worry, Slightly Mad Studios has got your back. There’s also a free car – The Audi A1 Quattro – available for download.
