Partially due to its over-the-top humour that was largely an effect of its tongue-in-cheek criticism of sexualisation, Senran Kagura Burst was a surprise hit on the 3DS when it released earlier this year, which is awesome for fans and aspiring players because thanks to that title’s success, the battle adventure Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus, and the rhythm-cooking spinoff Senran Kagura Bon Appetit! will be arriving on Playstation Vita in Europe and Australia as PSN digital downloads later this year.
Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus is like its predecessor, Senran Kagura Burst, but with an otherworldly buxom bra’s worth of enhancements – from the garments that explode from your character’s torso as she receives damage, to the graphics and combat mechanics, everything is promised to be “bigger and better” (your heroine’s measurements probably not included) while maintaining the franchise’s integral Japanese uniqueness.
Senran Kagura Bon Appetit! has the girls battling using culinary expertise and a presumably impractical yet stylish wardrobe in a cooking competition held by Master Hanzo, with the goal of winning a magical ninja scroll.
Grip your scabbard like it’s a delicate yet rebellious wrist and pre-rinse your chopsticks, for later this year, we will be feasting immediately after battle.
