It’s a tough battle in the digital CCG market right now. Magic the Gathering remains a permanent presence, of course, but from Hearthstone to Ubisoft’s Might & Magic: Duel of Champions and right through to indie productions such as Infinity Wars, there are plenty of others out there vying for player’s attention.
And Ubisoft has just released a new expansion to encourage people to continue the addiction to its particular CCG brand. Might & Magic: Duel of Champions’ Griffin Bane expansion adds 100 new cards to collect and battle with.
With the expansion also comes some tweaks to the gameplay to make the experience better for everyone. Griffin Bane removes the pre-made decks of each faction from the shop and instead gives players decks following the completion of game achievements.
The new cards also bring a key new a new feature to the game, which should change strategy up a bit. According to the press release: Stacking, makes its way to the battleground. Creatures with the Stackable ability can now be added on top of each other to increase their attack, retaliation, and health values. In addition to this, Token creatures enter the fray as lesser minions that can spawn on the board instead of being deployed as normal cards.
