I was able to briefly play Injustice at last year’s EB Games World Expo in Sydney last year, and I came away very impressed indeed.
Build on the core that has made recent Mortal Kombat games a whole lot of fun, Injustice is a fighting game where there’s real impact behind the attacks. There’s nothing graceful about the fighting – it’s dark, brutal and there’s weight behind those punches and kicks. It’s a surprisingly risky move by Warner Bros. to take this direction with what should be a very valuable game – it’s more like the recent Batman movies than the typical fun of, say, The Avengers.
But it is very, very good, and this new trailer (featuring Lex Luthor) is worth getting excited over.
