The Allies are moving in in Deep Silver’s Iron Front: Liberation. The D-Day dlc includes new weapons, armor, and equipment from the Western Front. Update: There’s a contest too
In Iron Front D-Day, players can fire bazookas and Thompson submachine guns, drive Sherman tanks, or attack from above in a P-47 Thunderbolt. Also featured are the famous Higgins landing craft which the Allied Forces used to land at Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944. Thanks to these units, capturing the mainland on the coast becomes a strategic highlight.
The D-Day pack will be available exclusively for the PC on December 14th, it’ll cost you a cool $9.99 USD to add it to your game.
Update: Deep Silver is also running a contest along with the DLC offering players a chance to play game designer for the opportunity to get their custom made missions added in to a future patch for the game.
Moreover, Deep Silver and the developer X1 Software/AWAR are today introducing a new contest in which participants have a chance to win the D-Day expansion. In order to take part in the contest, players must create and submit a new custom gameplay mission created with the game’s mission editor. Existing missions may not be submitted as contributions to this contest. The winning missions will be made available for all players to download together with the next game patch release, and in addition to receiving the D-Day DLC as a contest prize, the creators of the winning missions will be mentioned in the DLC credits.
The contest starts right now- you can get the full details right here on the Iron Front forums.
Have they fixed the bugs, though? It was all-but unplayable when I reviewed it. Charming and loads of potential, but something of an ordeal 🙁
