Max Payne and painful memories are two things that go together like peanut butter and jelly.
I don’t know if old Max has any ‘happy memories’ rolling around in his noggin, but painful ones- oh Lord yes. He’s got lots of those.
Maybe that’s why Rockstar Games dubbed the forthcoming DLC pack for Max Payne 3 just that- Painful Memories. The multiplayer add-on brings four new maps, all of which are themed after Max’s earlier games and feature shootouts in a gritty urban environment.
Players can revisit the subway bloodbath from the original Max Payne in the Roscoe Street Subway map, plus 3 additional maps, brand new weapons, avatars, items and the Hangover Burst which temporarily causes enemies to respawn with blurred vision, reduced stamina and health.
Adding in the new take on the old map from the pre-multiplayer days of Max Payne is a great idea. I’m not even that into the whole multi thing, but I’ll check that out just for nostalgia’s sake.
In addition to the trip down memory lane, Max Payne 3 players who grab this pack can be on the lookout for a new weapon and much more. Painful Memories will be available on December 4th for the Xbox 360 for 400 mspts, as well as the PS3 and PC where it’ll clock in at $9.99 USD. And as always, don’t forget that if you have the Season Pass for the game- you’re already set to nab the new pack at no additional cost.
