Microsoft’s Summer of Arcade promo started up this week on Xbox Live with a remastered classic in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD.
Xbox Live is in full on Summer of Arcade mode and that means that all the focus is on the promotion’s first offering, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD.
The game is getting some seriously good word of mouth (our own review here on dd is incoming) so maybe it’s not a terrible thing that your attention isn’t split up into too many places. Which is not to say that there aren’t there things to download… some of them free.
Take Mass Effect 3: Earth for example. This multiplayer pack for the action/RPG figures into the game by adding new weapons, character types, and gear aside from the new London, Rio, and Vancouver maps. It’s a pretty generous offering considering it’s free for all. And they stayed out of the ‘destroyed New York’ trap- three cheers for that too.
Also free this week is Kinect Mars Rover Landing. This little Fun Labs title lets players mess with NASA’s newest Mars rover and storm the landscape of the red planet themselves well before the actual rover touches down. Kinda neat.
