Not one, not two, but three big games hit the Xbox Live Arcade this week along with a couple of big time demos and a special NBA playoff’s Deal of the Week.
First of all, the new games all look like winners.
Telltale’s The Walking Dead should need little in the way of introductions. Part one of this episodic game is based on the popular TV series and comic book that chronicles the adventures of a group of survivors – post zombie apocalypse. The hook for the game is that it stars a brand new cast and takes place just before the main character from the books/show Rick Grimes wakes up from his coma. Choices are keys here and actually affect how the rest of the game plays out.
Bloodforge is an absolutely stunning looking, Conan-inspired, hack’n’slash. Really dark, barbarian action in this one- and the main character is even named Crom! Crom!
Deep Black is a third-person action title as well, but this one is set in a futuristic world and has a soggy twist. Action takes place in both hi-tech bases and in the murky depths themselves as you’ll be battling mechs and enemy agents while unda da sea.
Also available this week is the demo for Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma. It may be trendy to hate on the company right now but DD just keeps impressing so you might want to give it a try- hey, it’s free so why not.
Hoops fans will also want to check out the Deals of the Week as NBA JAM: On Fire is ‘On Sale’ along with some new b-ball duds for your Avatar.
