The 2012 PGA championship stage is set. And so is the demo for the only golf sim worth downloading.
Is there another? Seriously- think fast, name a golf game other than Tiger. Give yourself a no-prize if you cam up with anything because I can’t. Anyway…
The Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 demo is now live and ready to be golfed on your PS3 and Xbox 360. Here’s the kinda boring stuff:
Kick off your golf season today by experiencing the all-new swing mechanic in the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 demo, now available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3! Once again gamers have the opportunity to walk the hallowed grounds of Augusta National Golf Club and get a sneak peak at The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Resort, host of the 2012 PGA Championship. Gamers get the opportunity to play holes 14, 15 and 16 at Augusta National Golf Club and the opening three holes from The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Resort. As gamers take on these championship courses, they also can experience the most comprehensive swing mechanic revamp in franchise history, giving fans unprecedented swing control with Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 and allowing for more than 62 million shot combinations
Okay, now that that’s over with, the game supports both the PS Move and Kinect for the PS3 and Xbox respectively. While Tiger 13 boasts ‘improved’ support for the Move- the Kinect-ability is supposed to be a revelation for vide golfers.
Not only is the game completely voice-enabled, but it’s fully controller free- a first for a full featured sports sim. Kinect actually analyses and tracks your full body movements to create a virtual golf swing that is all you. At the very least, that’s a fascinating idea and makes the demo worth a download even if you’re not the biggest links fan. (oooo! That’s another golf game isn’t it! I got one!)
Another cool little feature not involving the demo per say is that you can head on over to http://www.easports.com/
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 will be available on March 27th in the US.
The only thing I could think of is EA's 'PGA Tour' line prior to them including Tiger as the marketing figure. Though that must have been about 15 years ago as I think Peter Jacobson was narrating and included other players like Kite, Zoeller, Stadler, Price, etc.. (most of which have now retired or are on the senior tour)
Sounds like some pretty cool ideas with the club creation and it's out just in time to catch some of the Masters build up. At the moment I believe I have pga tour 10 for Wii (first to include WM+) and may get 12 at some point as it's entire focus was the Masters.

Haha, you're doing better than me! The last Tiger Woods game I played was the first one on the Nintendo DS!

I pick these up every now and then. I recall when I first played the grand daddy of this series, EA Sports had a simple Golf title for the Sega Genesis a looong time ago my dad, uncle and I would play. About every 4 or 5 years, I pick up another one in the series it seems like. My most recent was Tiger Woods 10 or 11 I believe. I have a buddy who picks this up about every other year (the same rate he picks up nba 2k basketball) and just played this demo last night and said it was a lot harder than the last 2 games (he tried it for 360 and has a kinect) but said it was a lot of fun and that the demo sold him on it already
