The first major expansion for Dead Island is looking like it actually might be more interesting than the already pretty nifty main game. Looks like a lot more gunplay that’s for sure.
Weaponry aside, the new mission will definitely add some more play time- Deep Silver promises several solid hours of new story content and some more info about just what happened on the island. Now back to the weaponry because you’ll also be getting two new blueprint sets to get all build/slice/dice with.
This DLC offers a unique new perspective into the incidents in the main story of Dead Island: This time the player will get the chance to play as Ryder White, the antagonist of the main game; learn more about his motivations and why, from his point of view, he did what he had to do. This fresh take on the Dead Island story shows Ryder White both as a military man and a loving husband.
Sounds… touching? The Ryder White campaign will be out on February 1st for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.
