Bandai Namco has done a brilliant job of showing there’s still businss opportunities in Japan.

It posted a prodit for the first half of the year of ¥5.4 billion ($69.2 million). This compares to a loss of ¥2.6 billion ($33.3 million) for the same period last year.

Bandai Namco’s performance in Japan has been highlighted as a big part of these results. Here’s a partial list of the publisher’s successes in the homeland: Tales of Xillia sold 740,000 units, AKB1/48 2 sold 380,000 units, Taiko Drum Master Portable DX sold 220,000 units, and One Piece Unlimited Cruise SP sold 210,000 units.

In addition, the company has been able to unhorse Nintendo from the top of the Japanese publisher rankings for the first time.
