All kinds of cliches (or traditions, if you prefer) here |
Dont no why you spend a lot of time drawing in final fantasy 8 battles, only time you ever really had to was when you were trying to get a new summon. Otherwise you could have just used the GFs abilities to get spells? The character development really wasnt hard to grasp even if your a child

Yeah, refining cards to get items to then refine into spells was the way to go in VIII. And it certainly helped that the card game rocked. The only time you should have bothered drawing was if you came across a boss with rare spells or GFs.
Anywho, I agree with the article. VII has aged horribly and it clearly shows while the other two are still just fine.

I would love an Ocarina of Time-esque up port of FFIX for the 3DS(a full remake would be even better though).

Thanks for the comments everyone!
I did find FFVIII's combat system slow. I was exaggerating at the "hundreds" of times you'd need to draw in battle, but when I play the game occasionally I would, and in other respects the combat system seemed just a touch slow compared to the other games.
It's barely a criticism, but I know it's put other people off in the past. That's all I was saying 🙂
Oregano – I agree – I'd like to see all three 3D remade.

Great article. I love the concept of reviewing older games by modern standards. I write about games as well. I think I'm going to try this out with some PS2 classics. You should keep doing these articles every now and again though, this one was very enjoyable.
